Kap Lung Forest Trail

A short walk today (2 hours) along this forest trail near the mysteriously named Route Twisk.

West Kowloon Waterfront Promenade

This is one of HK's hidden secrets - seen here from my hotel room. Even the entrance is hard to find amidst the Western Tunnel approach. Soon it will all be under concrete, no doubt.

Why does it take so many characters to say no pipi in Chinese?

Denzil in HK... Nice clear day, BTW

You've probably seen this sign from the ferry

Yuen Tsuen Ancient Trail walk

Went on a three-hour hike today. When I set out it was 28 degrees and 88% humidity and by the end it was 30 degrees and 80%. Very sweaty!

This is a view from above Tsuen Wan. You can see our temporary office (ICC) towering above everything else, including HK Island (although Victoria Peak is higher).

Great view of Ting Kau Bridge (foreground), which links Tsing Yi to the mainland on the other side of the island from Kowloon, Tsing Ma bridge, which carries road and rail traffic from Tsing Yi to Lantau and the airport, and a Cathay Pacific 747 climbing out.

Unlike many HK trails, parts of this one are not hard surfaced.

Luckily I was going down at this point

End was in Sham Tseng village, famous for roast goose

So I ordered some...

Dragon Boat Festival

Le Petit Prince at Elements

Latest photo opportunity at Elements Mall is Le Petit Prince:

They have got a nice collection of the book in different languages:

Dinner at The Peak Lookout

74 people for dinner last night (you can't really see very many of them in this photo). The Peak Lookout is just over the road from Peak Plaza, overlooking Aberdeen. I don't think I have been there before. It was very good.

Great view considering it is July and all of HK was engulfed in clouds and rain earlier this week.

Trip to Shanghai

Like old times - Dragonair from HK to Shanghai

Visited a serviced apartment while there. I am looking at this as an alternative to hotel.

Friday at work

Lift at the W

Entrance to ICC. It has double-decker lifts - under the "B" and the "D" are the entrances, depending on which floor you are going to. We have to take a non-stop lift to floor 49 (which makes your ears pop) and then another lift to floor 72.

The view on Friday - yesterday's storm (Chanthou) has blown through but still a bit cloudy.

New Office

Here we are on 72/F of ICC.
It is very cool and the view is impressive.

Discovery Bay to Mui Wo

My Sunday outing started with this fancy ferry to Discovery Bay:

You don't have to go far from the luxury of DB to find more "traditional" housing:

I'm on the right path...

DB to Mui Wo is a fairly short 6km walk and not too challenging. The high point is this pagoda. The main problem was that my legs were still tired from the conquest of Hsien Ku Fung last Sunday...

Soon after, Mui Wo comes into view:

Dragon boat on Silvermine Beach:

Lunch al fresco at the China Bear pub:

And home by "economy class" ferry:
