High Junk Peak

Got to the top of this pointed peak today but in the clouds unfortunately. (This photo taken later from Po Toi O)

Started not far outside Hang Hau at the right hand (North) end of this map

The High Junk Peak Country Trail to Tai Miu is well-marked and easy to follow

Like all good HK walks, some steps to get going, then the trail gets rougher

This is roughly the half-way point, and I turned off by the Afforestation Scheme sign for a 30-minute detour to and from the top of High Junk Peak

At the top. No view, but the drop looks scary

A bit lower down and coming out of the clouds, finally got a glimpse of Clear Water Bay

A HK contrast: CWB on the right (East) and Tseung Kwan O landfill on the left

The path descends towards the road after this but then climbs back up to the right and CWB Golf & Country Club comes into view

End of the trail at the entrance to the golf club - stocking up on Häagen-Dazs

Nearby are a rock inscription from 1274 and a Tin Hau temple

Lunch in Po Toi O
